03 Jan Transport Group Requests ₱1 Fare Increase

The National Confederation of Transport Union or NCTU-Northern Mindanao has recently pressed LTFRB-10 for the 1-2 peso fare increase of jeepneys in CdeO next week.
According to an article by Bombo Radyo, the group has cited that this fare increase will greatly help struggling drivers due to the recent rise in fuel costs.
NCTU Regional Coordinator Joel Gabatan said that they didn’t plan this request. But currently, they don’t have a choice since the inflation of market prices are heavily affecting the transport sector.
Moreover, LTFRB Regional Director Allan Guro has already stated that they are just waiting for the petition of NCTU so that they can decide if the fare increase is necessary.
