11 Oct Ultra Trail Mapawa Run Launching at ROX Centrio Mall
Mapawa Nature Park in partnership with Recreational Outdoor Exchange (ROX) launched the 2016 Ultra Trail Mapawa Run on Friday, October 7, 2016, at the ROX store at the Ayala Centrio Mall. The Ultra Trail Mapawa Run is scheduled for October 29 and 30, 2016.

The trail run is divided into 3 categories. A Night Trail Run is scheduled for October 29. The run is 15 kilometers. For October 30, there will be a shorter 5 Kilometer Run and a longer 50 Kilometer Trail Run. All 3 categories will each have 150 registered participants.

For all categories, each participant will be given an event shirt, free meal, race bib, timing chip, and finisher medal. Participants of the 50K Trail Run will also automatically receive 100 points from Asia Trail Master for future sponsored by the former.
At the launching, the managers of ROX, some organizers and the owner of Mapawa Nature Park, Mr. Eduardo Pelaez, were there to talk about the event and to field some questions.

They also announced that the previous September 30 deadline for registration has been extended to October 17. Participants can register online at https://raceyaya.com/ or at ROX Centrio Mall. Groups or teams are encouraged to register and avail of the 10 + 1 package for all categories.
As part of the Ultra Trail Mapawa Run event, Dax Ang will conduct a Trail Running 101 lecture on October 9, 2016, at the Mapawa Nature Park. The lecture will start at 6:00 a.m., followed by a short 5 kilometer trail run. The lecture and run is free for those who have already registered for the event. It is P300 for those who will be joining but have not yet registered.

The Centrio marketing team was also there and their marketing manager delivered a short opening remark as well as a thank you message for all who attended. Top bloggers and media representatives were present and given snacks and freebies after the event.
Asia Trail Master is the organizer for many prestigious trail running events across Asia. It has added the Ultra Mapawa Trail Run in its calendar for 2016.
It is estimated that a number of participants from abroad, all across Mindanao, Visayas, and Luzon will be running at the said event.
