January is a month of new beginnings, which is why it’s a perfect month for some festive celebration of Misamis Oriental’s booming tourism, “Kuyamis Festival”.

 

“Unsa day nang Kuyamis?”, “Nganong Kuyamis Festival man tawag?”

A lot has been asking what does Kuyamis truly means and what does Kuyamis Festival signifies?

Kuyamis is a Subanen word which denotes a variety of coconut.

Misamis Oriental being the country’s major producer of coconut we take so much pride in these products which is what Kuyamis Festival is genuinely promoting.

 

Tourism Expo of MisOr Municipalities

Included in the week-long celebration of the Kuyamis Festival is the creative display of the coconut-themed Tourism Expo of MisOr Municipalities.

The coconut-themed Tourism Expo is an excellent avenue for Misamis Oriental municipalities to showcase and display the products of their respective towns.
