10 Sep 15 Scalawag Cops Dismissed In Northern Mindanao

Mga higala! A total of 15 scalawag cops as of August 2018 have been dismissed from duty by the Police Regional Office (PRO) of Northern Mindanao. This is part of their efforts in cleansing their ranks of irresponsible and law-breaking officers.

According to a report from Sunstar CDO, out of the 15 scalawag cops, seven (7) were from Bukidnon; three (3) in Cagayan de Oro City; one (1) each in Iligan and Misamis Oriental; three (3) in Misamis Occidental; and none in Lanao del Norte and the Camiguin province.

“On out internal cleansing campaign, records show that we have 15 cases investigated. All of them were dismissed from the PNP service,” said Superintendent Surki Serenas, PRO-Northern Mindanao spokesperson.

Serenas also added that 35-40% of these police officers were dismissed due to illegal drug activities and the others were charged for various criminal offenses.
