18 Aug 18 Police Officers Proved Positive with Illegal Drugs, Dismissed!
On August 17, Wednesday, Philippine National Police chief Director General Ronald Dela Rosa reported that 18 police officers were proved positive for illegal drugs and were already dismissed.
These past few months as PNP conducted their operations against illegal drugs, a lot of supposed drug users and pushers surrendered across the country. But Dela Rosa said during his speech for the 115th service anniversary of the police force at Camp Crame, that there are police officials who were involved in illegal drugs. As he spoke, “Napakalungkot isipin na may mga pulis nasasangkot sa ilegal na droga … under my watch I will not allow this situation to worsen.”
As PNP conducted a random drug test to all police units across the country they found out that 18 of them were positive.
There are 37 cases filed against the 18 officers who were involved in illegal drugs. And aside from them, two other personnel were suspended.
30 other police officers were reported earlier to Camp Crame after President Duterte named them as involved in illegal drugs. However, no cases have yet filed to these 30 but PNP’s Internal Affairs Service were ordered to investigate them.
To serve the countrymen and not to get involved with illegal activities to earn more money were the words from Dela Rosa as he reminded the police.
