CDO’s P2.85 Million Community Fish Landing Center Inaugurated in Bonbon

Mga higala! The new Community Fish Landing Center in Punta, Barangay Bonbon with a budget of P2.85 million has recently been finished and was turned over last Monday, June 18.

The event was led by Mayor Oscar Moreno, along with Officer-in-Charge Regional Director Asuncion Maputol of the Bureau of Fisheries & Aquatic Resources (BFAR) and Barangay Bonbon Chairwoman Jackie Merto.

Small-time fisherfolks of Barangay Bonbon and its nearby coasts now have a building to properly sell their fish and earn a decent living. Moreover, to help the fishermen during everyday operations, eight stainless tables and two chest freezers were donated by BFAR-10.

As of now, the Community Fish Landing Center will be temporarily managed by the Agricultural Productivity Office (APO) while the officers of the fisherfolks association will undergo management training in order to appropriately take-over.
