09 Apr 2 New Positive COVID-19 Patients Confirmed @ NMMC
Mga higala! In today’s press conference, April 9, 2020, Medical Director Dr. Jose Chan of the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC), revealed that there are 2 new patients who tested positive for COVID-19 in their hospital!
Mayor Moreno then clarified that the patients are not from Cagayan de Oro and are said to be the husband (56 years old) and child (16 years old) of Patient 598, and both tested positive on April 8.
However, the husband has now tested negative and the child is in a stable condition.
(UPDATE: Dr. Chan added that the positive test results of said patients arrived late but their samples were taken last March. Meanwhile, their repeat test results, which showed that the husband is now negative, were taken recently and arrived today, April 9.)
ICYDK, Patient 598 tested negative as of March 29 and was advised for home quarantine.
Moreover, in the past 6 weeks, there have been a total of 65 COVID-related patients who were admitted and/or discharged at NMMC.
