27 Oct Water Supply on Western Part of CdeO Goes Back to Normal
Cagayan de Oro Water District (COWD) announced that the water supply on the western part of the city is back to normal following its move to recommission the Rio Verde Water Consortium Inc. (RVWCI) yesterday, October 26, but said that there could still be some areas of the city where very low to no water pressure can be experienced.
In an article from Sunstar Cagayan de Oro, COWD said that water flow rate is maintained at about 1,700 cubic meter per hour or an equivalent of 40 million liters per day (MLD) with a pressure of 70 pounds per square inch (PSI) which, according to COWD, is still insufficient to increase the water pressure and cater to the growing demand for water in some parts of the city.
COWD Spokesperson Ladelle Sagrado said that the insufficiency of the water pressure is due to that fact that the Rio Verde used to supply 60 MLD of water before the company’s pipe was damaged. Given the problem at hand, COWD is set to purchase an additional 20 MLD to address the demand of consumers.
Meanwhile, City Councilor Teodulfo Lao Jr., Committee Chairperson of the Public Utilities, will still push for his proposals for the improvement of the services of the water district.
