Mga higala! 4 new confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported today, August 18, in Cagayan de Oro City!

3 of these are local cases, including 1 death, while the other one is a returning OFW (ROF).

207th. 51-year-old male, ROF, resident of Brgy. Kauswagan

  • from Australia
  • arrived in Manila on July 31 via cargo ship
  • stayed in a hotel from July 31 to August 8
  • swabbed on August 3, results came back negative on August 8
  • arrived in CDO on August 9 via air travel to Laguindingan
  • placed in a city isolation unit
  • swabbed again on August 15, results came back positive on August 17
  • no symptoms, has comorbidities: hypertension
  • now in a temporary treatment and monitoring facility (TTMF)

208th. 23-year-old female, local Authorized Persons Outside Residence (APOR), from Brgy. Camaman-an

  • permanent address: Las Piñas City
  • stayed in CDO since January
  • swabbed on August 15, results came back positive on August 17
  • no symptoms, no comorbidities
  • now in a TTMF
  • 15 close contacts identified, now isolated

209th. 66-year-old male, local case, resident of Brgy. Camaman-an

  • no travel history
  • experienced minor coughing last July
  • had fever on August 7
  • experienced shortness of breath starting on August 10
  • brought to the JRBGH on August 14 at around 10:00 pm
  • status upon arrival- oxygen saturation (SpO2): 96%, respiratory rate (RR): 31, blood pressure (BP): 90
  • diagnosis on admission: community-acquired pneumonia (high-risk), bilateral PTB, and COVID-19 suspect
  • swabbed on August 15
  • patient died on August 15
  • results came back positive on August 17
  • contact tracing conducted: 21 close contacts identified and isolated

210th. 69-year-old male, local case, resident of Zone 7, Brgy. Carmen

  • no travel history
  • experienced coughing and body malaise on August 13
  • brought to the JRBGH on August 14 and swabbed
  • results came back positive on August 17
  • transferred to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) on August 17
  • comorbidities: diabetes, PTB
  • 4 close contacts identified and isolated
