04 Jun 301 Brgy Officials Face Corruption Charges Over SAP Cash Aid Anomalies

Mga higala! A total of 301 barangay officials all over the Philippines are now facing criminal charges for their alleged involvement in the anomalous distribution of cash aid under the Social Amelioration Program (SAP)!
Out of the 301, 57 are said to be punong barangays and 57 are barangay kagawads.
According to the Manila Bulletin, this was disclosed yesterday, June 3, 2020, by DILG Undersecretary and Spokesman Jonathan Malaya after the PNP-CIDG found substantial evidence against the said barangay officials.
They were then charged with violation of Republic Act 3019 or the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act, the RA 11469: the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act, and RA 11332, the Law on Reporting of Communicable Diseases.
