03 May 35 electric meter readers to file a case against CEPALCO

Citing the provisions of the Labor Code of the Philippines, 35 electric meter readers are planning to make the move of filing a case against Cagayan de Oro City Electric Company (CEPALCO) on the basis of not attending to their application for regularization in the said company.
Backing up the employees is the ALU-TUCP who said, through Vice President Nicanor Borja, that instead of giving the promotion to the employees, CEPALCO still plans to transfer the employees to other CESCO agencies. The employees, however, did not like it and have not agreed to receive their separation fee from CEPALCO.
On the other side of the coin, CEPALCO Vice President Ralph Paguio has previously insisted that the employees will never gain regular status in CEPALCO since they originally came from another agency.
