4 LTFRB Execs were relieved due to corruption allegations

Four officials of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTRFB), including Metro Manila Director Rodolfo Jaucian, have been relieved from office pending a probe due to corruption allegations.

According to LTFRB, an investigation was prompted by reports of four officials extorting P280,000 from an anonymous victim and it revealed a ‘ghost database’ and other anomalies within the NCR office.

Included in the investigation were resigned hearing officer Melchor Fronda, transportation development officer Jead Gunda and administrative officer Mary Jane Manajero.

They could face charges for violation of the anti-graft and corrupt practices act, ethical standards of government officials, aside from estafa and falsification of public documents.

According to LTFRB, Transport franchises were sold twice or transferred. Expired ones were revived or “raise from the dead” even routes were modified and franchises under other transport  classifications and extended.
