At 2:57AM today, residents across Kadilingan, Pangantukan, Maramag and Cagayan de Oro City were alarmed with shockwaves when a 5.1 magnitude earthquake struck at Wao, Lanao Del Sur.

In a statement released by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), the earthquake hit 4 kilometers from Wao.

It was also revealed that there were no expected damages from the quake but residents should be careful with possible aftershocks.

Meanwhile, the following intensities were reported:

– Intensity V – Kadilingan, Bukidnon

– Intensity IV – Pangantukan, Bukidnon

– Intensity III – Maramag, Bukidnon

– Intensity II – Cagayan de Oro City

As of now, PHIVOLCS has already detected 2 aftershocks in Wao.
