07 Dec 5 Policemen Accused of Kidnapping in CDO Plead Not Guilty
During the arraignment of the five policemen last December 5, 2016, Monday, who were accused of kidnapping Enrique “Iking” Fernandez III, a local businessman, and carnapping his motorcycle last October, they entered “not guilty” pleas according to the head agent of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in Northern Mindanao, Lawyer Alex Cabornay.
The following policemen were earlier placed under custody for their involvement in the alleged kidnapping incident:
- Sr. Insp. Ereneo Ramirez
- Sr. Police Officer 2 Jojo Lim
- Sr. Police Officer 1 Alaindelon Tacubao
- PO3 Alejandro Ubanan
- PO2 Sangkula Hussein
The are currently detained at the Lumbia Rehabilitation Center as ordered by the regional trial court after the recommendation of the City Prosecutor Office (CPO) to file criminal charges against them.
According to Cabornay, they will be presenting the CCTV footage of the kidnapping incident during the hearing which is scheduled on January 23, 2017.
