05 Sep 600 Maute Members and 11 Foreign Militants Killed in Marawi, Says State Officials
In an article from Manila Times, officials said yesterday, September 4, that there are already about 600 members of the ISIS-linked Maute terrorist group along with 11 foreign militants killed in almost four months of gunfight against ISIS-linked terrorist groups in Marawi City.
Rear Admiral Rene Medina, Commander of the Naval Forces in Western Mindanao, said that number of deaths on the side of the rebels is a far cry compared to the 150 soldiers who lost their lives in the war-torn city.
Despite that, Median said the government will not cease to haunt down militants in the city and will even strengthen their efforts to liberate the country from the hold of terrorism.
On the other hand, the identities of the foreign insurgents were still unknown but there are claims that they hailed from countries in Asia such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, and Saudi Arabia.
