08 Jul 98 Suspected Drug Pushers/Users Surrender to Lanao del Norte Authorities
Last July 4, 2016, Monday, a total of 98 suspected drug users and pushers surrendered to the police in Linamon, Lanao del Norte.
According to town police chief Insp. Moamar Solog, out of the 98, five of them admitted that they sold drugs. Yet, they have more names of validated drug pushers.
Meanwhile, Mayor Randy Macapil persuaded those who surrendered themselves to authorities for them to mend their ways, or else, they’ll get arrested.
Senior Supt. Leony Roy Ga who is the police chief in Iligan City said that hundreds have already surrendered to the police in his city, adding that, “They have sworn to reform.” There are at least five (5) suspected drug pushers killed in nearby Iligan City since President Rodrigo Duterte started his term as president.
At least six (6) policemen in Agusan del Sur resulted positive in a second drug examination conducted last June. According to Senior Superintendent Joseph Plaza, provincial police director, there were two other policemen who were caught using drugs while the lawmen whom he declined to name were confirmed users of illegal drugs after going through two surprise drug tests. They will be facing administrative and criminal charges, and will be dismissed from the service.
