Drug Suspect Shot Dead in Tacurong After Resisting Arrest and Trading Shots

Dawn of August 16, 2016, Tuesday, a drug suspect identified as Russel Hamid Paglas, one of the subjects of search warrants issued by Regional Trial Court 13 Judge Alexandrex Betoya in Cotabato city, was shot dead in a police anti-drug operation in Tacurong City.

Recognized with the alias “Tsokay Piang”, Paglas is a resident of the “Yellow Village” subdivision in Barangay New Isabela, Tacurong City.

According to Supt. Raul Supiter, Paglas resisted arrest and even traded shots with lawmen triggering a brief gun battle at 4:00 AM. Injured, Paglas was rushed to a hospital in Tacurong City by the police officials. However, Paglas expired.

Seized from Paglas were two .45-pistols and a hand grenade.
