25 Aug JRBGH Improved Facilities and Services to Guarantee Excellent Health Care Services to Kagay-anons
JR Borja General Hospital (JRBGH) targets to become the nation’s leading local government hospital, with this, the hospital extends to offer more accessible, equitable, quality and compassionate health care with fiscal autonomy and a preferred option for the poor and needy.
On August 22, chief of JRBGH, Dr. Ramon Nery said during a symposium on harmonizing local and national health care initiatives dubbed as Kurambos that, aside from the funds by PhilHealth, Department of Health and other partners, it is smoother for the hospital to improve, since the present administration prioritize health care projects for the countrymen.
The hospital has improved a lot in just three years, this includes the renovation and enhancements of the third floor south section that accommodates wards for pediatrics, medical and city government employees. The emergency room, laboratory, X-ray room and pharmacy were also developed at the second floor east section of the hospital.
Moreover, St. Luke’s TB Pavilion will receive a P650T budget for the renovation and commissioning.
Last February 2015, the out-patient department was also upgraded as it now has air-conditioned patient waiting and examination or consultation area with an advanced queuing system.
More ambulance units, installed of closed circuit television (CCTV) and animal bite treatment center were also developed in the hospital.
JRBGH also added more personnel, from the year 2013 there were only 198 employees but now there are 489 compromising the departments for nursing service, ancillary and administrative.
With the renovations in the hospital, for the first quarter of 2016, they already served 48,091 patients which are larger than last year with 31,315 patients.
Their income has also increased from P65M in 2014 to P121M in 2015.
JRBGH build up their public-private partnerships to constantly improve their assistance thus they are associated with the Cagayan de Oro City Blood Council, Interplast Australia and New Zealand, Hallym Burn Foundation, Cagayan de Oro Eyesight Board and more.
Nery also said that they are planning to boost the hospital into Level II Category by adding two more infirmaries and establish a mental health facility or drug rehabilitation to guarantee excellent health services.
