02 Sep CDO Minors Used as Drug Runners Rescued by Policemen
In a police operation conducted last August 31, 2016, Wednesday, three minors were rescued by policemen after being caught acting as “drug runners” in Barangay Balulang, Cagayan de Oro. One of the minors is a child of a couple who were allegedly involved in illegal drugs.
According to the police, seized from the three minors aged 14, 15,and 16 years old were 200 grams of suspected shabu amounting to some P1 million and drug paraphernalia.
The minors said that they were unaware that they were carrying illegal drugs, however, Cagayan de Oro Police Office (Cocpo) spokesperson Police Chief Inspector Allan Curato didn’t believe the statement of the minors in a quote, “Dili ko motoo nga walay knowledge ‘tong mga minors.”
The policemen had been after couple Sailane Abdullah and Zoraida Adilao, drug suspects who are occupants of the target house in Barangay Balulang, but the couple managed to evade arrest through a motorcycle. Instead, the policemen arrested the couple’s household help named Miguela Bertudan.
“Ang sakit lang mga ginikanan mismo ang gagamit nila,” said Curato adding that the rescued minors will be turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
