Last week’s report on Maute leader, Omar Maute’s, death is still under the process of validation by the Armed Forces Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

In an article from Philstar.com, AFP chief General Eduardo Año said that the military forces would still be on the assumption that the leader of the terrorist-rebel group is still alive until his death from last week’s encounter would prove to be true.

On the other hand, there are reports that another Maute sibling was killed in an airstrike in Marawi City.

As the clashes between the Philippine Military and the Maute group enters its third week, the former will continue on its armed measures until the forces of terrorists are finally curbed.

Military commanders also reported that there are only about 100 members of the Maute rebel group who remain in the city which means their defenses are already weak and penetrable.
