30 Jun Death toll of civilian killings in Marawi increases
In an article in Philippine Star, five bodies of civilians were found beheaded yesterday at Barangay Gadungan, Marawi City, an area occupied by Maute terrorist group.
The discovery of the five victims not including the initial 17 bodies found is the primary evidence that those civilians trapped during the attack in Marawi City were beheaded as also revealed by people who have escaped the Mautes.
Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Spokesman Brig. Gen. Restituto Padilla reported that the military troops also discovered two foreign militants somewhere on the battle area.
Padilla added that they are not sure of the exact number of civilians who are killed by the terrorist group.
There are also possibilities that the number of individuals who will be killed by the terrorist group will increase rapidly from 27 people since their members are scattered all over the city.
