04 May Bukidnon Airport Construction to start today with its Groundbreaking Ceremony
Mga higala! The construction of the proposed Bukidnon Airport will start today, May 4, 2018, with its groundbreaking ceremony at the proposed site in Maraymaray, Don Carlos, Bukidnon.
According to Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri, this is one of the President Duterte’s primary projects which aims to help lessen the hassle for the residents of Bukidnon during land trips to and from Laguindingan or Davao International Airport.
Based on the details given by Mindanao Daily News, the Bukidnon Airport will have a 2.65-kilometer runway which can accommodate prominent aircrafts such as the Airbus 320 and 330; and the Boeing 727 and 737.
When finished, this airport will be able to serve everyone in Bukidnon and its neighboring provinces like North Cotabato, Davao del Norte, Maguindanao, Lanao del Sur, and even Davao del Sur.
Furthermore, the government has already allocated over 679 million pesos for the airport’s land purchase and site improvement. Meanwhile, the full budget is currently being finalized by the Department of Transportation (DOTr).
