Endangered Pawikan Found Dead In The Waters of Iligan City

Mga higala! An endangered pawikan or “sea turtle” was recently found dead by fishermen in the waters near Acmac, Iligan City.

According to reports, the pawikan was identified as a Leatherback sea turtle and based on the data from the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), only 2,300 adult females of the Pacific leatherback remain, making it the most endangered marine turtle subpopulation on earth.
