23 Nov President Duterte Urges To Require ROTC Program For Grade 11-12 Students

Mga higala! In his recent speech at the Army Reserve Command (ARESCOM) in Cavite, President Rodrigo Duterte expressed that he would like to once again urge lawmakers to make the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps or ROTC as a mandatory part of the K-12 curriculum.
According to CNN Philippines, President Duterte said that “I encourage the Congress to pass a law that would require mandatory ROTC for Grades 11 and 12 so you can instill patriotism and love of country to the youth.”
Duterte also added that if the Congress does not act on this, he is considering to reinstate ROTC through an executive order, if Malacañang lawyers deem it legal.
