09 Jan Cagayan de Oro Council Approves P6.3 Billion Budget For 2019

Mga higala! During its first session this year, the City Council of Cagayan de Oro has approved the P6.3 BILLION budget for 2019, which is only 200 million less than the proposed P6.5 billion budget of Mayor Oscar Moreno.
Majority of the city’s councilors voted to approve the budget, except for councilors Leon Gan, Nadya Emano-Elipe, and Lordan Suan.
Councilor Ian Mark Nacaya stated that the P6.3 billion budget is necessary for a growing city like Cagayan de Oro to operate and continue its momentum, meanwhile, Councilor Leon Gan expressed that the approved budget is unreasonable since it exceeds the actual income of the city for 2018.
