Mga higala! The Province of Misamis Oriental has now recorded over 500 cases of TEENAGE PREGNANCY this 2019!
According to a report by Superbalita Cagayan de Oro, Provincial Population Officer Andrew Gapuz revealed in a special report that as of September, the following are the number of teenage pregnancy cases in MisOr’s various municipalities:
- Tagoloan- 77
- Naawan- 64
- Jasaan- 56
- Magsaysay- 52
- Manticao ug Salay- 42
- Lugait- 40
- Villanueva- 24
- Talisayan- 21
- Balingoan- 19
- Medina- 18
- Alubjid- 17
- Lagonglong- 12
- Binuangan- 12
- Laguindingan- 11
- Gitagum- 9
- Libertad- 7
In a post, the Provincial Population Office (PPO) of Misamis Oriental expressed that “Teenage pregnancies [are] now a National Social Emergency.”
And, as a response, they have been conducting information drives, orientations, etc. regarding sexual education and is aiming to help in preventing our youth from engaging in premarital sex.
