DTI Warns Public Against Scammers Selling “LPG Safety Devices”

Mga higala! The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is warning the public against scammers who are going around neighborhoods, selling LPG SAFETY DEVICES or LPG Anti-leakage devices!

According to a post by Police Regional Office 10, these scammers pretend to be government agents and/or Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) officers and will say that they are conducting a survey regarding a homeowner’s LPG brand.

They will then conduct an “inspection” and try to scare their targets with various information regarding the dangers of LPG leakage.

After a convincing spiel, they will then offer to help by selling an LPG safety device worth P2,000 to P11,000, which when inspected only costs around P500.

Most of their victims are senior citizens and housewives.

(Note: LPG Safety Devices are not being endorsed by any government agency.)
