Mga higala! Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Silvestre Bello III has announced that employees will also be required to wear face shields (along with face masks) inside their workplaces starting this August 15, 2020!

According to Bello, this new guideline was approved by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-MEID).

This is said to be part of the health safety measures to prevent COVID-19 transmission in workplaces.

“This face shield is intended to prevent the transmission of the virus inside the workplaces kasi may findings ang Department of Health at saka iyong mga medical expert na iyong contamination o iyong transmission hindi lang through nose or the mouth,” Bello said.

Bello also stated that the IATF has proposed that employers should bear the expenses for this and provide their workers with face shields.

However, DOLE or IATF has yet to release the included areas and other details for this new requirement. Watch out for updates!
