Mga higala! Starting today, August 19, 2020, motorcycle barriers or shields will no longer be required for motorcycle drivers and passengers who are living in the same residence!

This was announced by Joint Task Force COVID Shield yesterday, August 18.

According to the Manila Bulletin, this was approved by the National Task Force on COVID-19, with the recommendation of JTF to ease the restriction on back-riding couples, family members, and non-related individuals who are living together in one residence.

However, they still have to present proof that they live in the same household and have to wear face masks and full-face helmets, to avoid being apprehended and cited for a violation by the authorities, said Police Lt. Gen. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar.

Moreover, motorcycle barriers will be required for riders and back-riders who are not living in the same house.

These new rules apply for those in General Community Quarantine (GCQ) but can be adapted by areas under Modified GCQ.

Watch out for updates!
