Mga higala! 2nd District Representative Rufus B. Rodriguez has been elected as a Deputy Speaker of the 18th Congress of the Philippines!
With this appointment, Rodriguez is now the 1st deputy speaker from Cagayan de Oro City.
Below is his official statement:
“I am humbled by the trust and privilege to serve as Deputy Speaker of the 18th Congress. Persistent hard work and heart in legislation and service to our constituents in Cagayan De Oro and the Philippines has gotten us here today. My heartfelt gratitude extends to all; including my colleagues in Congress, Speaker Lord Allan Velasco, my family, friends, and most of all, our Kagay-anon constituents. Rest assured, we continue in our commitment to help legislate in furtherance of the Constitutional principles of social justice and dignity for all Filipinos.
