Mga higala! During yesterday’s daily press briefing, November 23, 2020, Mayor Oscar Moreno reiterated that cockfighting is still not allowed in Cagayan de Oro City, especially during this holiday season!

Mayor Moreno expressed that he still won’t allow the sport even though the IATF has permitted the reopening of cockpits in areas under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ), since this can interrupt the city government’s efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19.

ICYDK, as of November 22, the city has 2,206 cumulative cases and 97 total deaths. 1,828 of these are local cases and only 378 are returning Overseas Filipinos (ROFs) and locally stranded individuals (LSIs).
