26 Jan Bords’ Sizzling at Inihaw is Now Open for Kagay-anons Who Love Delicious Food Cooked the Homely Way and at Affordable Prices

There’s a new kid in town (sorry, can’t help play with words with the passing away of Glenn Frey), or rather, another new restaurant player in town for those who love home cooking-styled food or Filipino dishes cooked the “inihaw” way. The new kid in town is called Bords’ Sizzling at Inihaw and it’s also a nice place if you’re looking for delicious but affordable dishes for a night out with the family or just a quiet lunch with a friend.

Some Kagay-anons might find Bords’ Sizzling at Inihaw familiar because this is where a former restaurant, Tsinoy’s Pares and Mami House, used to be located. That would be at the corner of Tiano and Mabini Streets, almost in front of Ruby Appliance, and the new place is now on soft opening.

Once you enter the place and you’ve been to the old Tsinoy’s, you’ll see almost the same façade but with some renovations done to the place. It still has the open alfresco area at the entrance and the air-conditioned section looks a little bigger now. This same section can be converted into a large function area for large occasions or events, and this means making the section exclusive, leaving only the alfresco area open to the public during such exclusivities. The service crew is now wearing yellow instead of Tsinoy’s former red color.
The proprietor of Bords’ Sizzling at Inihaw is the same with Tsinoy’s, and the latter isn’t gone since it plans to move to new locations at the Gaisano City Mall and at the Limketkai Center Mall. During its soft opening last January 22 and 23, all their menu prices were slashed by 50%.

Gawking at the Bords’ menu, the appetizers along already seem mouthwatering, and as your eyes scan down to the soups, you’ll notice that their Bulalo is definitely affordable compared to other restaurants. They have Shrimp Platter Specials that are good for groups of 4 and above. Naturally, they can’t go without having the Sizzling Favorites such as sisig, pork chop, pochero, chicken, spicy posit, and mixed seafoods. And this wouldn’t be complete without the Inihaw Favorites such as tuna belly, salmon belly, pusit, liempo, and pork barbecue.

Even their noodle dishes look delectable, and of course, so do their crispy pata, lechon kawali, kare-kare, and fried chicken, just perfect for groups of 4 people and up. They serve the usual fancy Filipino desserts like buko halo, halo-halo, buko pandan, and leche flan. They’re one of the few restaurants that serve soda drinks in 1.5 liter content for the convenience of large groups. And for those looking to unwind with some beer, they do serve beer buckets, including assorted beer buckets.
So there, another restaurant has opened in Cagayan de Oro because this is the city filled with Cagayanons who love to sink their teeth into truly delicious foods. Bords’ Sizzling at Inihaw promises this, and probably much more later, when they begin to expand the restaurant further.
