DOH & DILG Urge Public To Wear Face Masks @ Home

Face mask

Mga higala! Officials from the Department of Health (DOH) and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) are now encouraging the public to observe minimum public health standards, like the wearing of face masks, even when inside their homes!

This was expressed by DOH Epidemiology Bureau Dir. Alethea de Guzman and DILG Usec. Jonathan Malaya in a recent virtual briefing.

(Before you react that this is unreasonable, stupid, etc. Kindly continue reading.)

According to the latest reports, an increase in COVID-19 cases from the same households has been recorded all over the country.

“Dati ang COVID nakukuha sa workplace, pero ngayon pami-pamilya na. Dahil nagkaroon po ng COVID fatigue ang ating mga kababayan simula nang nagsimula ang immunization program,” said DILG Usec. Malaya.

Malaya then stressed that if an individual is not sure if he or she is not infected with COVID-19, he or she should wear a face mask at home.

This is very important if there are senior citizens and other vulnerable family members in their household.

The wearing of face masks should also be considered during celebrations and family gatherings since anyone can catch the virus at work or while going out to buy groceries.

What do you think of this higala?
