12 Apr USTP To File Application To Establish “College Of Medicine”
Mga higala! The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) in Cagayan de Oro City will now be filing an application for the establishment of the USTP College of Medicine!
According to a post in Cong. Rufus B. Rodriguez‘s Facebook page, the USTP Board of Regents has recently approved a resolution authorizing University President Ambrosio Cultura to file the said application for the preliminary assessment of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
When approved, this College of Medicine will be open to all applicants who will pass the set entrance exam. Students from low-income families will then only need to pay low tuition while some deserving students may be admitted with a scholarship.
ICYDK, this move is based on House Bill No. 8123 which was authored by Rodriguez and was approved and endorsed by the House Committee on Higher and Technical Education last January.
