14 Mar Marcos Warmly Welcomed by Mindanao Local Leaders Who Pledged to Support Him for His Vice Presidential Run
During the four-day visit of Vice Presidentiable Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. in Mindanao, he received an overwhelming support from the south’s local political leaders.
He got the support from Zamboanga del Sur Governor Antonio Cerilles and most of the mayors of the province. He even got introduced by Cerilles in front of a cheering crowd during a local forum with, “Ang ating pag-asa, ang susunod na Vice President, si Bongbong Marcos. Siya ang makakagawa ng maganda dito sa Zamboanga del Sur.”
Along them who pledges to support Marcos for vice presidency are Davao del Norte Governor Rodolfo del Rosario, Representatives Anton Lagdameo and Antonio “Tony Boy” Floirendo, partylist official Jericho “Koko” Nograles of PBA, Panabo City Mayor James Gamao and Compostella Valley Governor Arturo “Chionkee” Uy.
During Del Rosario’s speech, he said that he owe Bongbong’s father a lot and, “that is why I consider it a privilege to introduce to you all the son of my former boss. With your help and support, we may soon see him as the new Vice President of our country.”
Predominantly Ilocano-speaking towns and cities in North Cotabato specifically in Makilala, Matalam, Midsayap, Kabacan and Kidapawan also welcomed Marcos. While was conferred the title of Supreme Leader by the T’boli tribe of South Cotabato, ranked as Datu Kelmokul and the adopted son of Blaan and T’boli tribes.
