28 Mar CDO Launches Black Soldier Fly Waste Treatment Facility
Mga higala! A Black Soldier Fly (BSF) waste treatment facility was recently inaugurated in Cagayan de Oro City!
The said facility is under the management of the East-Westbound Terminal Public Market (EWTPM) and is being overseen by Economic Enterprises chairman Councilor Ian Mark Nacaya.
ICYDK, this BSF facility will be used to compost or convert wastes into renewable energy by the process of creating bio-char or charcoal briskets. This can then be utilized for fuel (energy) and ash (nutrients for soil/fertilizer).
BTW, this project was made even more possible with EWTPM’s partnership with the University of Science & Technology of Southern Philippines Research & Innovation Center, headed by Dr. Greg Mejia Cubio.
