06 May Anti-Duterte Ad Paid For By Trillanes Aired on ABS-CBN Draws Flak Among Netizens, Karen Davila Tweeted Her Disappointment
On Thursday, May 5, an anti-Duterte ad paid for by Vice-Presidential bet Antonio Trillanes aired on the Kapamilya Network, ABS-CBN, which drew flak from netizens, including one of the station’s finest broadcaster Karen Davila who tweeted her disappointed towards the said ad.
According to the Broadcasting Code Article 8 Section 2 (From R.A. 9006 or Fair Election Act) also known as the Political Propaganda, “No program or sponsor shall be allowed to manifestly favor or oppose any candidate or political party.”
With this, people expressed their anger towards the Kapamilya Network for accepting such disturbing advertisement that clearly violates the cited law, which also happened to involve kids in destroying a political enemy .
Earlier, reports said that the ad was worth 20 million pesos which the ABS-CBN network accepted while the other networks refused. Yet recently, GMA network aired a different but still an anti-Duterte advertisement.
