On May 10, Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte said during an early morning show of Pastor Apollos Quiboloy, “Grant me this little [time], to banter with you Filipinos. Pero ‘pag presidente na ako, hindi ko gawin ‘yan syempre, behaved talaga. Ang problema ‘yung barong.”

The leading presidential candidate in the partial and unofficial election results plans to retool his rough language when talking to the people. Instead, what he is worried now is what to wear on June 30 if he has indeed won the presidency.

Duterte’s common-law wife, Cieleto “Honeylet” Avanceña, said, “Yung character niya during the campaign, it was very appropriate. Kailangan he has to be tough. Pero ngayon, iba na ‘yung ano, you notice sabi niya, hindi na raw siya magmumura. Sabi ko sa kanya, ‘ay naku magugustuhan ‘yan ng nanay mo.”

“You know what, Mayor Duterte has so much respect for the position, for the presidency,” she also added.

This means that the current Davao City Mayor can level-up his demeanor in front of big names from other countries if ever he will get the position as President, which is now apparent.

“I’ll just ask for your understanding kasi my panahon is umiiksi, para magbehave na talaga. Good manners and conduct, bagsak talaga ako diyan. I’m enjoying my few days, it’s about one month from now, it’s June 30th, I will be taking my oath of office if indeed I won the elections,” said Duterte.

Duterte’s tactless speaking troubled him in his presidential campaign. Some of these are the notable curse to the Pope and his comments on the rape joke. But these troubles are not enough to sway the votes of the Filipino people.

Currently, as of May 10th 2016, 2:38 pm, there are 91.92% precincts that have successfully sent their tally for recording. Duterte is ahead of the pack with 15,415,326 (38.7%) votes. Next to him is Mar Roxas who is behind by more than 6 million votes!

Roxas just confirmed his concession, admitting his defeat in the afternoon of May 10.
