Aquino-hired IT Experts Revealed Servers Shipped to Laguna Was Meant to Rig Votes

On Sunday, a group of information technology experts who called themselves MM hired by the Aquino administration said that there were at least 30 servers which were shipped and airlifted to the warehouse at 5:00 PM of May 9, just shortly after the polls were closed, where the said servers were “fixed” to rig the results. They were the ones assigned to the Comelec National Technical Support Center in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

Some 2.65 million votes were generated for four contested provinces which includes Davao del SUr and Pangasinan, as what the IT experts said, could make or break the vice presidential race.

“Nobody knew where we are. It was not open to the public. So while everyone wasn’t looking, we have recorded at least 30 CCS servers from different municipalities and provinces that were shipped to us to open them… and introduce new scripts because they said these servers failed to boot,” as said by one of the IT experts.

The IT experts also shared that even though there were no transmission of votes yet, the machines already displayed votes right after the boot up. Thus, brought the said machines in Laguna for reconfiguration. At the NTSC, the group of IT experts found out that the votes which were displayed were the votes during the mock polls undertaken by the Comelec in March and April, which then were carried by the consolidated counting servers.

“The mock poll results should have been erased and zeroed out. No. They were there and these were among those that were tabulated in addition to the tabulation of election returns or ERs that were posted on the statement of votes or SOVs that finally generated an official CoC,” the IT source said.

2 million votes were generated in the said mock polls as said by the IT source, yet the reconfiguration didn’t include the order to “zero out” the mock polls results.

“The only way to settle the issue of cheating is to subject these now questionable 30 CCS servers and the automated election system to an independent forensic examination before the national canvassing begins on Wednesday,” said one of the sources.

After the said servers were “fixed” in Laguna, they were sent and shipped back to the respective municipalities and provinces for transmission, to add to the tabulation and to be able to proclaim the winners. However, the areas where there were consolidated counting servers with issues weren’t able able to proclaim winners three hours after the voting closed on May 9, said the source.

“What the Comelec and Smartmatic made us do was irregular and illegal,” as confessed by one of the IT experts.

“While we have signed a nondisclosure agreement, we also did not want to be accessories and party to the crime. If Congress would grant us our right against self-incrimination and make possible the waiving of our non-disclosure agreement, we are only too willing to come out in the open and disclose the truth,” the IT expert said.

The group said that they were just hired as contractor by the Comelec and Smartmatic to operate the NTSC which was not accessible to the public while Smartmatic hired contractors nationwide to assist when the VCMs and the counting servers would face trouble. They were even told that the Smartmatic contractors in various provinces walked out after they were swamped with complaints regarding the problems with the VCMS in which they can no longer handle. However, instead of releasing the standby units, Comelec lawyer Jose Tolentino issued a recall order for the counting servers and be brought to the group of IT experts in which they had no other choice but to accept them. It was said in the Comelec en banc resolution, should the consolidated counting servers fail to boot, these should be immediately be replaced by standby units readily available in the area yet the Comelec and Smartmatic went out of their way to initiate shipping and airlifting operations which is not only costly but also unnecessary considering that there were still available standby units.

26 of the said “defective” consolidated counting servers were from municipalities while 4 were from provinces.
