14 Jun Abu Sayyaf Beheads Another Canadian Hostage Again!
As the June 13 ransomed lapsed, the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) has beheaded another Canadian hostage in Talipao, Sulu.
It was confirmed yesterday through the intelligence officer of Joint Task Force Sulu that Canadian citizen Robert Hall has been beheaded after the outgoing president Benigno Aquino III fails to give the P600 million ransom in exchange for the 3 hostages, including Kjartan Sekkingstad and Marites Flor.
A confirmation has also received from ASG’s spokesperson Abu Raami that the beheading has indeed happened on the 13th of June.
While many have said that the P600 million is a huge money to squander on this deal, a lot have also sent their sentiments through the Internet that PNoy should have at least actively reach out and make negotiations to the rebel, however hopeless it may be. His inaction has caused yet another hate in his administration that seems too distant to the wants of the Filipino people.
Before Hall, it was his fellow Canadian John Ridsdel who has been beheaded in April.
Hall, Ridsdel, Sekkingstad, and Flor were abducted from a resort on Samal Island in September 2015.
ASG is known to be an ISIS affiliate and operates in the southern part of the Philippines.
The group has recently released 4 Malaysians on June 8 but believed to have a Dutch bird-watcher and 4 Filipinos in their possession who are captured in separate assaults.
