21 Dec Admin Aide of DPWH in CDO Caught Using Shabu, Arrested
Cagayan de Oro City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group nabbed a government employee as he was caught sniffing shabu.
According to a report from ABS-CBN News, the employee was caught sniffing inside a shack at Punta, Barangay Macabalan on December 20, Tuesday evening.
The suspect was identified as Ritchie Babia Jr., 27 years old, working as an Administrative Aide I of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) 2nd District Engineering Office in Cagayan de Oro.
A concerned citizen in the area reported the ongoing drug session, said Police Inspector Mario Mantala Jr., Deputy Chief of CAIDSOTG.
A sachet of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or commonly known as shabu and various drug paraphernalia such as improvised tooter, lighter and foil were confiscated by the authorities during the seizure.
Meanwhile, Babia defended himself saying that he was being set up but he confessed that he was using shabu at that time.
