Before smartphones and tablets became a necessity and a tool for gaming, we used to play card and board games. Well, some still does today but are noticeably less than what was once in the past. Playing various card and board games was our way to spend time with our family and was our way to kill boredom. But now, technology has mostly spoonfed us with online and offline games. It depreciated our physical social interactions.
But still, some consistently made use of card and board games as their favorite pastime. Are you one of ’em?

Good news! For those card gamers and are also fond of playing board games, there’s a specific place for you in the city. Introducing the Affinity Games which specializes in collectible card games, table top gaming and board games.

Affinity Games is located at the 2nd floor of Grand Central Building, Pabayo-Hayes Street, Cagayan de Oro. And they had their soft opening last March 1 welcoming card and board game enthusiasts. With the owner, Joe Stutzke, who personally manages the store and is glad to teach you how to play the games.

Monday – 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM
Tuesday – 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM
Wednesday – 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM
Thursday – 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM
Friday – 11:00 AM to 1:00 AM
Saturday – 11:00 AM to 1:00 AM
Sunday – 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Some of the allowed card games to be played inside the store are Magic: The Gathering, Force of Will, Vanguard, Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh! but for the meantime, they are starting with Magic: The Gathering products and then later with other new products.

For those who want to play board games, they have some that are for sale but you can also rent with the rate of P25/hour for 1 person. If you want to play it outside, you can just present an ID and of course, consider their store’s policies.

What’s great with Affinity Games is that anyone are allowed to bring foods inside but in the future, there’ll be available foods inside the store.
