17 Jan Alliance of Concerned Teachers to Conduct Protest on DBM-NorthMin

The ACT Partylist of Northern Mindanao has expressed their intention in rallying at the Department of Budget and Management office next week. The said office is located at Brgy. Bulua, Cagayan de Oro City.
In a report by Bombo Radyo, ACT stated that this is due to their disappointment in DBM Sec. Benjamin Diokno for strongly arguing against the increase of salary for teachers.
ACT Partylist NorthMin Pres. Ophelia Tabacon said that they just want to send a stern message to President Duterte. They are outraged by the fact that they weren’t included in the budget, although the PNP and AFP were allocated with a salary increase of 100%.
As some of us may remember, Sec. Diokno stated in a tv interview that Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque mistakenly announced the additional pay for teachers since the annual budget was already finalized and approved.
