03 Jan Archdiocese Of CDO Condemns Opening Of Casino @ Opol
Mga higala! The Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro has recently issued a statement decrying the opening of the casino in Brgy. Taboc, Opol, Misamis Oriental!
According to the said statement, they are strongly against this and have successfully stopped the establishment of casinos in CDO on 1993 and 2017.
They have proven this stand multiple times and were stunned with the news of the said establishment’s opening last December 19, 2021, since they were not informed.
“We were caught by surprise when we heard the news that a casino opened in Taboc, Opol, Misamis Oriental. There were questions as to who gave the clearance. Was there a consultation done on the social acceptability of the said gambling institution?”
The statement then further expressed why they are against the said casino and stressed that:
“We are against corruption in all levels. Allowing this new form of gambling results to another form of corruption–the corruption of family values which are inherently gospel values.”
