16 May ASAP stars serenade CDeO fans at Centrio
As Centrio Mall continued to surprise Kagay-anons with Kapamilya Artists, last May 13, 2017 on a Saturday afternoon, the mall was packed when ASAP singers Darren Espanto, Jason Dy, Daryl Ong, Klarisse De Guzman and Angeline Quinto performs their most loved hits. While actress Alora Sasam who was born from Iligan City, hosted the show and brought laughter to the crowd.
The show started with Alora Sasam’s witty jokes as she goes to the crowd and throws trivial questions to the viewers asking them anything about ASAP. Her questions includes, “Anong araw mapapanood ang ASAP?”, “Bukod kay Jonah at Morisette sino pa ang ibang biriteras ng ASAP Birit Queens?” and “Sa anong singing reality show unang napanood ang resident asap teen heart throb na si Darren Espanto?” in return an ASAP merchandise will be given as a prize to whoever answers her question . She then introduces the ASAP Kapamilyas, setting the crowd to go wild as they sang Can’t Stop the Feeling by Justin Timberlake.
After their collaborative performance, the R&B royalty Jason Dy sweep off everyone’s feet with his own rendition of Be My Lady (a teleserye theme song of the same titled teleserye). Everybody got crazy when he searches the crowd for a lady she can serenade. Gerikha Amper, who was a local CDeO artist/singer and was a Tawag ng Tanghalan contestant last year was sitting with the crowd and was luckily picked, making every girl watching jealous and kilig at the same time.
Everyone was on cloud nine when Jason Dy and R&B heartthrob Daryl Ong sang How Deep is Your Love. Both singers were too kind to make sure everyone was completely taken, they reach out to the audiences who were situated far from the stage.
Daryl Ong took the chance to charm everyone’s heart by singing his heartwarming version of How Did You Know (a teleserye theme song of Ikaw Lamang Iibigin). Unlike, Jason Dy, Daryl had a hard time to chose someone he can serenade with instead he chose to walk around the crowd to serenade every viewer.
Up next to perform was one of the most talented teenagers in the industry, Darren Espanto, who made the crowd astonished as he sang one the powerful songs of Beyonce, Halo and every girl teenager in the crowd goes wild and crazy, screaming their lungs out for Darren. Everything gets insane as Darren performs one more, singing the most listened song of Sia, The Greatest. Darren is known for hitting high notes but everyone turned to be hysterical as Darren shows off his intensifying moves.
Between the show, Alora Sasam along with Darren Espanto, entertained the audience with the popular dance craze, ASAP’s Mobe Challenge. Three Darrenatics were picked from the crowd, all they have to do is dance the mobe challenge with Darren. The one who dances with most enthusiasm and most applauded by the crowd will be the winner.
After making the crowd go gaga for the three singers, the stage goes on fire as one of the ASAP Birit Queens, Klarisse de Guzman, sings her heart out with her own rendition to Alicia Keys’ No One. Just like the other singers, Klarisse happily walks around the crowd and expressed her gratitude for everyone who came to witness their grand slam performances.
The Queen of teleserye theme song Angeline Quinto along with Klarisse performed the all time favorite I’m Every Woman by Chaka Khan and later on was covered by Whitney Houston in 1992. Both performed with energy and power on their voices.
Another game was then made when four contestants from the crowd were chosen to sing with the birit queens, aiming to have the highest birit to win the crowd. The contestants were, Riza, Carl, Aldwin and Joan who won the competition singing the song Dadalhin kita sa Aking Palasyo.
The crowd goes emotional when Angeline Quinto sang the heartbreaking song Kunin mo na ang Lahat sa Akin. However, everyone goes nuts as she played with the song lyrics singing “kunin mo na ang lahat sa akin, wag lang si Erik Santos.”
The show then ends with the six artists performing together the 2017 ABS-CBN Summer Station ID and thanking everyone for coming. Leaving the crowd with happy and contented hearts.
