29 May Bag containing suspected bomb causes tension in CdeO establishment
Cagayan de Oro City experienced a short frenzy last Saturday night, May 27, when a store attendant found an isolated bag in front of Moons Bar that was suspected by the staff members and visitors of the establishment to be containing a bomb.
According to an article from msn.com, the station 1 of the city’s police department received a call informing them about a suspicious bag left in front of Moons Bar along Yacapin-Pabayo streets in the city.
The bomb scare immediately prompted the police authorities to put the area under alert, closed all roads nearby, and assigned bomb experts to check on the bag for possible bomb paraphernalia that might explode any moment.
After a close check-up, the authorities found out that the bag did not contain any explosive devices but instead contained women’s stuff and apparels. Aside from that, they also discovered an Identification Card inside the bag owned by a certain Lorena Bago from Magallanes, Agusan del Norte.
On the other hand, police reminded residents in CdeO to be alert and be vigilant with the declaration of Martial Law throughout Mindanao and with the on-going battle of the military with the Maute terrorist-group in nearby Marawi City.
