28 Jun Balingasag Municipal Police Tags 2 Barangay Officials Involved in Drug Trafficking

During the past weekend, Chief Insp. Arnold Gaabucayan, Balingasag municipal police station chief, broadcasted in a police radio program that their forces are targeting local barangay officials for anti-drug operation. And a barangay chairman and a barangay councilor have been included in the list of drug personalities.
The said local barangay officials were identified by officials of Balingasag municipal police among those who are involved in drug trafficking business in their area of responisibilities.
“Gawas aning mga local barangay official, dunay mga asawa nga sila mismo naghatud sa ngalan sa ilang mga bana. They claimed that they wanted their respective husbands to be arrested considering they could no longer control their addiction to illegal drugs,” Gaabucayan said. He added that they had already arrested and filed cases against 30 drug personalities for the past two years, including influential families in the municipalities.
The Balingasag municipal police are currently conducting massive information on “Operation Tokhang” to the municipal level as stated by Gaabucayan, and that the comprehensive names of drug personalities in the municipal level sent to them by the members of the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council had already reached not less than 300.
Concurrently in Barangay Agusan, at least 50 suspected drug pushers and users voluntarily turned themselves to the authorities.
