07 Dec Bangko Sentral Ng Pilipinas Released Enhanced Design and Signature of New Generation Currency Banknotes
In a statement released by Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BPS), changes were made to highlight significant moments in the nation’s history, including the world heritage sites and iconic natural wonders.
But BPS would also like to take note that although there were slights changes on the images of the Philippine currency, the banknotes remains to be the constant reminder of the Philippine patriotism and bravery.
Changes in the images on the obverse side of the banknote particularly those depicting the Declaration of Philippine Independence and Opening of the Malolos Congress
Addendum in the text “Leyte Landing” to “Leyte Landing October 1944”
Deletion of the image of the Order of Lakandula Medal and the phrase “MEDAL OF HONOR” on the obverse side of the banknote
Changes in the format of the scientific names; and
Increase in the font size of the year mark of the banknotes.

Meanwhile, BPS also announces that NGC banknotes without the enhanced feature will remain legal tender.
