18 Dec BasuRun Held In Barangay Canitoan
In an article posted by Cagayan de Oro Philippines, the BasuRun (Basura Run) activity ended successfully yesterday, December 17.
The said event was held by the Canitoan Task Force on Youth Development, Canitoan Youth Federation, and Barangay Canitoan officials together with City Local Environment and Natural Resources Office (CLENRO) which was participated by more than 200 runners all over the city.
The BasuRun was the first ever fun run that uses recyclable wastes as a fee in joining its events in the whole city.
In addition, the activity was connected to the Solid Waste Management Division of CLENRO that aims to reduce the amount of waste. And to increase people’s awareness to reduce, reuse and recycle based on the Republic Act 9003 or the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000.
Lastly, three winners from the male, female and children category received plaques and cash prices such as; P5000 for the first runner-up, followed by P3,000 and P2,000 for the third runner-up.
