BIR Extends Registration Deadline Of Online Sellers To September 30

Mga higala! The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has once again extended the deadline for the registration of online sellers (or those involved in digital or online transactions) to September 30!

According to BIR’s Memorandum Circular No. 92-2020, the registration is being extended due to “a surge of registrants in various revenue district offices that are
trying to beat the deadline.”

“Considering this and the Bureau’s resource constraints at this time of quarantine protocols due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the deadline is further extended to September 30, 2020.”

ICYDK, online sellers who are earning less than P250,000 annually are exempted from paying taxes but are still required to register.

Those who will be caught doing business without complying with registration/update requirements and those who will fail to declare due or unpaid taxes will face penalties.
